Houston Texans tackle David Quessenberry is undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with lymphoma, the team announced Tuesday.

Quessenberry "experienced fatigue and a persistent cough over the past week and sought a medical evaluation to find the cause," the team said in a statement. "David was diagnosed and is presently being treated through M.D. Anderson Hospital."

His agency, Rep 1 Sports, said in a statement Quessenberry, 23, initially believed he had a chest cold. He was diagnosed last Tuesday with Non-Hodgkin T Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, one of large group of cancers impacting white blood cells that defend the body against infection.
