Standing at his locker Friday morning, Texans quarterback Tom Savage said the feedback from coach Bill O'Brien that "It's time to get going" and that he needs to perform better resonates with him.

"It's motivating," Savage said. "Obviously, you want to be ready to go. You've only played five games, but really it doesn't matter you have to go out there and perform."

Savage has lost all three of his starts this season, including the past two since replacing injured rookie star Deshaun Watson. Savage is in his fourth NFL season, but has started just five career games.

"Yeah, he doesn't have a ton of experience, but it's time," O'Brien said Thursday. "It's time. It's time to get going."

When asked if those comments bothered him, Savage replied: "No, not at all. If something a coach says puts pressure on you, then you're in the wrong business."

He'll tell who how it is. That's what I love about him."
