"Mark Teixeira could be looking for a new place to hit when he starts polishing his swing after the holidays.

In past Januarys the switch-hitting Yankees first baseman has worked out at Bobby Valentine's Sports Academy in Stamford. However, with Valentine managing the Red Sox and being a regular at the facility, Teixeira isn't sure he will be welcome.

"I was joking around on Twitter and Facebook: I don't know if he's going to let me hit at his facility anymore in Stamford,'' Teixeira said yesterday before accepting the March of Dimes' Sportsman of the Year Award at the Waldorf Astoria. "I've been hitting there for two years and he is there a lot. We will talk about hitting, we'll talk about baseball. I don't know if those conversations are going to be kept to a minimum now.''"
