"Terrence Williams was recalled from the Springfield Armor of the NBA's Development League yesterday and is scheduled to meet the Nets in Dallas today, the team announced.
He will practice and be in uniform for tomorrow's game against the Mavericks.
"We saw a lot of what we needed to see,'' coach Avery Johnson said of Williams' three-game stint with the Armor. "I know his team went 1-2, but from an individual standpoint, we thought he played a lot of minutes, took a lot of shots and was real active.
"I've watched all three games, and based on that evaluation, we feel now is a good time for him to return.''
Williams had two triple-doubles and two 30-point games for Springfield and averaged a triple-double: 28 points, 11.3 rebounds, 10.7 assists.
On Twitter yesterday he was happy to be rejoining the Nets.
"First thing first it's def good to be back,'' he tweeted. "I give all glory to God he put me in the position to do right an(d) has a great plan.''
Williams averaged 6.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in eight games for the Nets, but was hampered by a strained abdominal muscle that caused him to miss five games.
Before the Nov. 23 game against the Hawks, Johnson announced that Williams was deactivated for both that game and the next night's game in Boston, for disciplinary reasons. Johnson didn't say what Williams' transgressions were, but it was reported — and eventually confirmed by Williams on his Twitter page — that he was late to too many practices, shootarounds and meetings."
