rlando Magic swingman Terrence Ross will miss “a significant amount of time” because of a knee injury, team officials said Thursday.

Ross sprained his right knee’s medial collateral ligament and suffered a non-displaced fracture of his right tibial plateau, team officials said, when he got hurt during the second quarter of the Magic’s victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.

Coach Frank Vogel recently moved Ross from the starting lineup to a sixth-man role. Although Ross has struggled for much of the season, his injury will be a major blow to the Magic’s firepower off the bench.

In Ross’ absence, the Magic could need starting wings Jonathan Simmons and Evan Fournier to play more minutes and likely will need reserves Arron Afflalo and Mario Hezonja to play more significant roles.
