"Most of the talk will center on quarterback Jake Locker, and the Titans turning the page at the most important position.
Yet one other significant change presented itself during the NFL Draft.
Judging from their picks and their words, the Titans are going to look noticeably different on defense the next time they take the field.
With nine picks over three days the Titans selected six defensive players. They finished the draft with a flurry Saturday, taking four defensive players in six picks.
Many of the defensive picks have a different skill-set - and will be asked to play in a different way - than those the Titans drafted in previous years.
When the lockout ends and free agents are available, expect the trend to continue.
"What we are doing is kind of putting the puzzle together,'' new defensive coordinator Jerry Gray said. "We knew what we had and now we're (adding). … The faster we can figure out what these guys can do, the faster we can get the defense going in the right direction."
On Saturday, the Titans beefed up at linebacker with Miami's Colin McCarthy in the fourth round. They bolstered the defensive line with Iowa's Karl Klug in the fifth and Auburn's Zach Clayton in the seventh. They even took a flier on a big defensive back in Tommie Campbell, a former janitor who gets his NFL chance as a seventh-rounder from California, Pa.
Those picks followed a Friday when the Titans used their second- and third-round selections on UCLA linebacker Akeem Ayers and Southern Cal defensive tackle Jurrell Casey."
