"Mark Teixeira homered from each side of the plate for a Major League-record 12th time in his career during the Yankees' rain-shortened 6-0 win over the White Sox on Tuesday.

Teixeira knocked a two-run homer off John Danks at U.S. Cellular Field from the right side in the third inning, then hit a solo shot from the left side off Jason Frasor in the seventh.

Growing up in Baltimore, Teixeira idolized switch-hitting Hall of Famer Eddie Murray. On this night, he passed Murray and former Yankee Chili Davis, each of whom had 11 such games.
