Instead of flying back to California after Sunday's win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the 49ers stayed in Ohio, flying northeast to Youngstown, where they will use the facilities at Youngstown State, including the Penguins' indoor practice area in the event of rain.

The 49ers' owners, the DeBartolo family, has deep roots in the Youngstown area, and team officials figured that instead of making back-to-back flights into the Eastern time zone, they would stay in Ohio this week and make a short trip to Philadelphia on Friday.

On Monday, typically a day off for players, defensive players visited a Boys & Girls Club in Youngstown while coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive players met with kids at a children's hospital in nearby Boardman."
