Teahen, Jones pick up Peavy as White Sox beat Blue Jays

"Andruw Jones didn't know about the White Sox's 10-game losing streak at the Rogers Centre until listening to his teammates on the team bus Sunday night.

"But I told them we're going to change it," said Jones, who teamed with Mark Teahen to rally the Sox to an 8-7 victory over the Blue Jays in 11 innings before a hostile sellout crowd of 46,321.

"I didn't know they had music in this clubhouse," said manager Ozzie Guillen, still relishing the satisfaction of a productive lineup that he hopes will silence talk-radio critics.

It was a redemption of sorts for Teahen, Jones and ex-Blue Jay Alex Rios, who was the target of verbal abuse from the time he took batting practice but responded with three hits.

"Chicago people, start booing Rios, please," Guillen quipped. "They're booing him here, he got three hits. They were clapping for him in Chicago, and he's was hitting (.174)."

It was the offense that bailed out Jake Peavy, who allowed seven runs — the most he has allowed since surrendering eight in four innings at Arizona on Sept. 5, 2007, while pitching for the Padres.

That added more satisfaction to the Sox's first triumph here since June 1, 2007."
