The Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitching staff had a rough afternoon on Thursday in Cleveland, as the Indians battered them for 12 runs on 15 hits. In an attempt to fortify the bullpen ahead of their weekend series in Cincinnati, the Dodgers announced Friday that they have recalled right-hander Josh Ravin from the minors. Fellow righty Ross Stripling was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Stripling was called upon to relieve struggling lefty Rich Hill in the fifth inning of Thursday’s game and promptly served up a three-run home run to the first man he faced, Lonnie Chisenhall. He wound up conceding four runs on five hits in 1.2 innings of the team’s loss.

He serves primarily as the long reliever for Dave Roberts, and he’s been one of the most-used bullpen arms in baseball this season.
