DENNIS BERGKAMP has emerged as a shock candidate to take over at Swansea.

The Arsenal legend lost his job as assistant coach at Ajax, and was on the Welsh club’s radar in 2015.

Swansea’s search for their next manager appeared to have stalled less than 48 hours after sacking Paul Clement, but they could now turn to Bergkamp to turn revive their season.

The club made contact with former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal after wielding the axe on a third manager in 14 months.

But talks never made it past the initial stage forcing them to appoint club legend Leon Britton as caretaker boss for the crunch relegation clash with Crystal Palace tomorrow, despite only joining the coaching staff last month.
