Garry Monk claims Swansea are not interested in cashing in on Michu.

The Spaniard is a target for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, and Monk claims the Swans are under no pressure to sell their best players.

Monk says Swansea have received no bid for the Spaniard, who has nearly recovered from an ankle operation.

“Michu is the type of player who will attract interest and he is a good player,” said the Swans head coach. “He needs to get himself fit and that’s got to be his first priority.

“We’re not a selling club and players who have been sold, it has been for the right price. We’ve had no offers and Michu should concentrate on getting back on that pitch for us. He’s a big part of our plans going forward.”

Monk was pleased by Swansea’s display in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Liverpool at Anfield.

He said: “To come here against a team pushing for the title and to give them such a good game shows how well we have done.”
