Before losing big man Amar’e Stoudemire to the New York Knicks in free agency, the Suns flirted with idea of trading him on many occasions.

The most famous rumor came during LeBron James’ final year in Cleveland with the Cavaliers when the Cavaliers were reportedly reluctant to include J.J. Hickson in a deal that would have netted them Stoudemire.

According to current TNT announcer and former Suns’ General Manager Steve Kerr, that was the only deal that nearly went down involving Stoudemire.

Kerr told Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News that the Suns nearly acquired Golden State Warriors‘ guard Stephen Curry.
