"Anthony Stewart is still a member of the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Canes on Monday placed the forward on waivers and there was speculation another NHL team might have interest in him. But Stewart was not claimed on waivers by the noon Tuesday deadline.

General manager Jim Rutherford said Stewart will remain with the team, and he is expected to play tonight against the Anaheim Ducks."
