A nation is anxiously holding its breath in anticipation of a jersey color. Tampa Bay Lightning superstar and Team Canada hopeful Steven Stamkos participated in practice on Monday afternoon and is hoping to dress for Saturday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Stamkos is planning to determine his status for the 2014 Sochi Olympics at the conclusion of that game.

Stamkos wore a regular white jersey on Monday and later switched to blue, which is a positive step beyond a no-contact color. He was able to practice five-versus-five situations in addition to power play scenarios and has generally been progressing towards normal participation.
