Although the Golden State Warriors won’t be taking what has almost become an annual trip to the White House this time around, it appears as though the defending NBA Champions are still looking to make the team’s upcoming trip to our nation’s capital a productive one. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently commented on the now infamous occurrence — or lack thereof — on the Pod Save America podcast.

“We had been debating for a couple months what we would do in terms of visiting the White House, if we would or not, how it would unfold,” Kerr recently said in an interview with former Obama administration adviser Dan Pfeiffer. “We were sorting through it all, but before we could get to anything, the President beat us to the punch.

“I don’t think we would have gone. And I think he knew that. Several of us had been very critical of the president in the past year, and it would have been awkward, for sure.”
