Southern Miss has offered the job of head basketball coach to Brad Underwood, who is expected to accept, according to a report Tuesday night by CBS Sports' Gary Parrish.

Underwood would replace Donnie Tyndall, who left Southern Miss last week to take the Tennessee job. The Golden Eagles went 56-17 in two seasons under Tyndall, including 29-7 this past season.

Underwood led SFA to a 32-3 record and the Southland Conference championship this past season, his first as a Division I head coach. The 12th-seeded Lumberjacks upset Virginia Commonwealth in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
