Nebraska basketball got an unexpected "BOOM!" this morning with the news from Bakari Evelyn, a 6'2" 175 pound point guard hailing from Detroit, who plans to sign a letter of intent on Wednesday, the first day of the spring signing period. Evelyn appears to fill the roster spot that opened up with the unexpected transfer of Tarin Smith last month. He'll join Chicago area point guard Glynn Watson in this fall's touted freshman class.

Evelyn transferred to the Phoenix area last summer after leading Southfield Christian to three straight Michigan Class D basketball titles in his freshman through junior seasons. Evelyn was twice named to the All-Michigan team in class D, which is the smallest class in Michigan high school basketball.
