St. John's is no longer pursuing former Oregon point guard Dominic Artis following an internal review of the situation, SNY's Adam Zagoria reported.

Artis was one of three Oregon players named in a rape investigation that took place in April.

While ultimately no charges were filed in the case, all three men were kicked off the team, and, as was announced on Monday, banned from attending the university as students for between 4-10 years.

The SNY report notes that St. John's decision to back out of Artis' recruitment was not contingent on Oregon's decision to ban Artis from the university.

Instead, the school was allegedly evaluating many factors including pending legal action in Oregon and fan and students' responses to bringing Artis on campus.
