The Tampa Bay Lightning might’ve dodged a bullet regarding Jason Garrison — on Friday, GM Steve Yzerman said the veteran defenseman’s status is day-to-day after suffering a lower-body injury on Thursday against Dallas.

The Bolts, are already without d-men Radko Gudas and Matt Carle, couldn’t afford to lose another body on the back end. Center Brian Boyle was called into emergency relief last night — Tampa Bay only dressed six defensemen for the game, then had to use Boyle on the blueline after Garrison exited.
