Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't want to talk Monday about what Akeem Ayers has to do to get back on the field.

But he did acknowledge the linebacker's chance may be coming soon, because of the potentially season-ending pectoral injury to linebacker Zach Brown.

"I would think that if we have eight active (linebackers on game day) – and who knows what's going to happen with Zach – that (Ayers) will have an opportunity," Whisenhunt said. "Certainly we'll see."

A 2011 second-round pick, Ayers started 44 of 48 games during his first three seasons. But his tackle numbers took a nosedive last season, in part because he was playing through injuries.
