"Dolphins coach Tony Sparano saw the incident on film. He's going to make sure the league office sees it as well.
Monday, Sparano said he would send video of Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain spitting in the face of linebacker Channing Crowder to NFL officials. Crowder became incensed during a second-half timeout Sunday and after the 26-10 loss in Baltimore said McClain spat on him.
"I have enough evidence, yeah," Sparano said. "It's upsetting to me. There are a lot of things that go on in this game from a talking standpoint, a trash-talking standpoint. I'm standing there on the sideline [Sunday] and I had a player talking trash to me from the other team and I didn't say one word to the guy.
"It's part of the game. I get it. Whatever floats your boat out there. I don't think it's part of the game, but to some of them, that's what gets them going. This whole deal here about spitting in somebody's face, nowhere in this game do I see any place for that."
When asked for his reaction to Sparano's backing his version of events, Crowder, hosting an event where the Dolphins handed out Thanksgiving dinners to underprivileged children at a Fort Lauderdale Publix, simply said, "We're playing the Tennessee Titans this week."
Sunday, linebacker Karlos Dansby called for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to take action. He didn't soften his request Monday, saying McClain's transgression was worthy of suspension for the remainder of the season.
"You can't have that kind of play in this game," Dansby said. "I don't care how much trash is being talked on the field, you can't pull a stunt like that. He crossed the line. As a man, you spit in somebody's face, you cross the line. Where I'm from, that gets you killed, straight up.
"[Crowder] had to weigh out all his options. He asked me on the sideline should he go whip him. I'm like, 'Yeah, go whip him.' Then I was like, 'Man, I need you. If you do it, you're going to hurt the team,' so he had to pull back."
McClain admitted he had watched video of the altercation several times, in several different videos, but he continued to assert that he did not spit on Crowder."
