Seven years after they played fall baseball together in New Jersey, Hector Santiago and Rick Porcello might get a chance to share the same mound this weekend.

Santiago's emergence as the White Sox closer represents the advances he has made since playing with Porcello — who is scheduled to start for the Tigers on Sunday — for the Farrah Builders.

"I actually didn't pitch that much," Santiago recalled. "I played center field. We had a lot of big-name guys who were supposed to play Division I college baseball or get drafted. I pitched only a few innings but was the starting center fielder and batted near the top of the order. I might have thrown six innings on that team."
