Jake Peavy took another step toward rejoining the Chicago White Sox by throwing 76 pitches during a four-inning simulated game Tuesday at Comerica Park.

Peavy, who hasn't pitched in a game since June 4 because of a left rib fracture, threw to teammates Casper Wells, Blake Tekotte and Brent Morel, as well as Jeffrey Manto and Jacob Parent, the sons of Sox coaches Jeff Manto and Mark Parent. Peavy worked out of the stretch position at times and threw several breaking pitches.

If Peavy recovers from his simulated game without any setbacks, he will make his first minor league rehabilitation stat Sunday at Huntsville, Alabama, while pitching for Double-A Birmingham.
