"White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez was named Wednesday to The Sporting News' American League all-star team.
Ramirez, 29, batted .282 with 29 doubles, 18 home runs and 70 RBIs in 156 games. Ramirez is the third shortstop in Sox's history to receive this honor.
Luke Appling (1936, 1940 and 1943) and Luis Aparicio (1968-70) are the only other Sox shortstops to win this honor."
