The Chicago White Sox's task of solving Blue Jays left-hander Ricky Romero became tougher Tuesday night, as slugger Paul Konerko was scratched from the starting lineup about one hour before first pitch.

The reason for Konerko's deletion was not announced, but he was 2-for-7 lifetime against Romero. Only Alex Rios (.444) had a higher batting average among the starting position players against Romero.
