"The Cleveland Browns are contemplating hiring an offensive coordinator to take over the play calling from coach Pat Shurmur, according to league sources.

The sources said former Vikings coach Brad Childress is the leading candidate.

Childress, who sat out this season after being fired by Minnesota in 2010, was the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive coordinator when Shurmur was Philadelphia's quarterbacks coach."
