It has never been easy this season for Oklahoma during Big 12 play.

So why should a Saturday at Texas Tech have been any different?

The No. 25 Sooners have regularly had chances to pull away before letting their opponents back in the game. They followed a similar script Saturday, holding on for a 72-63 win over the Red Raiders at United Spirit Arena.

Buddy Hield and Cameron Clark combined for 35 points, while freshman point guard Jordan Woodard turned in his best game since Big 12 play began.

Hield led the Sooners with 18 points, while Clark added 17. Woodard had 15 points and eight assists.

Ryan Spangler had 10 rebounds.

Oklahoma (16-4 overall, 5-2 Big 12) hosts No. 11 Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. Monday on ESPN.

The Sooners let a 13-point second-half lead dwindle to five with less than six minutes remaining.
