The New York Yankees are poised to welcome back a pair of key contributors just in time for their second-half pursuit of a playoff spot.

Andrew Miller will be activated from the disabled list Wednesday after missing nearly a month with a strained muscle in his left forearm, manager Joe Girardi told reporters Tuesday. Girardi also confirmed Miller will resume closing duties upon his return.

The left-hander will join Jacoby Ellsbury, who's also expected to be activated from the DL prior to Wednesday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Ellsbury missed close to seven weeks of action with a sprained right knee.
