"Carlos Quentin was out of the lineup Sunday for a second day, partly to rest before the White Sox face Minnesota Twins lefties Francisco Liriano and Brian Duensing on Tuesday and Wednesday and partly because of an 0-for-13 slump his last four games.

''With the way he plays, we have to be careful how we play him because we want to get the most out of him,'' manager Ozzie Guillen said.

Quentin has missed chunks of the last two seasons because of injuries. With the addition of Manny Ramirez as the designated hitter, Guillen realizes it's harder to get at-bats for players."
