Slow starts for Miami Heat 'more than a trend;' Mike Bibby held scoreless

"A troubling trend continued for the Heat on Sunday — yet another poor start to a playoff game.

The Sixers outscored the Heat 28-16 in the first quarter Sunday in their 86-82 victory at Wells Fargo Center. For the series, Philadelphia has outscored the Heat three times in first quarters by a combined score of 101-75.

"Three out of four games now — that's more than a trend," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We have to get off to a better start, set the tone for the game and dictate our will on the game. We were not able to do that tonight, so we had to expend a lot of energy just grinding back and scrapping and crawling to get back into the game."

Before the game, Spoelstra's message to the team written on the locker room board was "finish." Miami then started the game with 16 points, a series low.

Like it did in Games 1 and 3, the Heat rallied in the second quarter Sunday, using a 22-2 run to take the lead at halftime. In four games, the Heat has outscored the Sixers 125-77 in second quarters. Dwyane Wade led Sunday's comeback, scoring 14 points on 6-of-6 shooting in the second period."
