"Washington Redskins strong safety LaRon Landry says he doesn't know if he'll be able to recover from a groin injury in time to play Sunday against the New York Jets.
Landry suffered the injury last Sunday while trying to chase down Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch as he cut upfield after making a catch and scampered 20 yards for a touchdown. Offensive lineman Paul McQuistan laid a block on Landry, who recalls feeling his groin pull as he tried to avoid the hit. Landry left the game and returned to play off and on, finishing with four tackles, a sack and a pass deflection.
Landry didn't practice on Wednesday, and didn't expect to be able to practice Thursday. He said his Achilles' tendon feels fine as of right now, but that the groin is what's holding him back. He said no determination has been made on his availability for Sunday because it's still too early to tell. But the fifth-year pro didn't exactly sound hopeful. "
