"Sizemore will begin rehab stint in Akron
CLEVELAND: Grady Sizemore will be back on the field tonight, when he steps into the Double-A Akron lineup at designated hitter.
"If he gets his final clearance, he will DH tomorrow night, then play center field for six innings the next day,'' Indians manager Manny Acta said.
Acta did not know how long Sizemore's rehab assignment would last, but the Aeros' regular season ends Monday. It's unlikely that Akron will qualify for the Eastern League playoffs, but Triple-A Columbus will make the postseason in the International League, and Sizemore can continue playing games with the Clippers, if necessary.
Sizemore has been on the disabled list since July 18 with a bone bruise in his right knee and a sports hernia that required surgery."
