"For the second time in two months, Grady Sizemore might miss time with a knee contusion.
He was running out a double in the first inning when he apparently reinjured the knee rounding first base. He continued to second (and was struck with the relay). After testing the knee, Sizemore came out of the game.
"It's a right knee contusion, the same knee as before," manager Manny Acta said. "It's not the surgically repaired knee." .
Sizemore was placed on the disabled list May 16 (retroactive to May 11) with a bruised right knee and did not return to the lineup until May 27.
He accompanied the team to Minnesota, where he will be examined by an orthopedist. Depending on the results of that exam, he might return to Cleveland for a more extensive evaluation.
The Tribe has had more than its share of injuries, but Acta understands it does little good to complain.
"It will just be another challenge if Grady's not around," Acta said. "Everyone has issues with players.""
