The Edmonton Oilers a mere 1-3 in the early season standings after dropping a 4-1 decision to the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday now have to find their way on a six-game road trip that starts in Toronto on Saturday against the Maple Leafs and wraps up Oct. 22 in Montreal.

It won’t be an easy task. Not with six games in 11 days and with opponents like the quick starting New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins also on the schedule.

“It will be interesting to see how we do on the road especially on an extended trip” said head coach Dallas Eakins. “I do think it’s a good time to get out on the road but this is not going to be a cakewalk either. This will be a tough road trip and we’re going to be playing some heavy teams some big teams. Some teams that also have some firepower. This will be a large test.”
