"Spencer Hawes said he is getting closer to returning from a strained left Achilles tendon, while 76ers coach Doug Collins said Nik Vucevic is further away as he deals with a strained quad muscle.

That's why Collins said he would like to add another big man. He would love to have another body for 3-on-3 games after the Sixers' practices, just to give players who don't get much playing time a chance to stay sharp.

The Sixers are expected to work out a few big men today, including former Sixer Francisco Elson, who played one game for them in the 2009-10 season, and eight-year veteran Dan Gadzuric, who played for New Jersey and Golden State last season."
