"The upcoming NBA Draft isn't the only thing on Sixers president Rod Thorn' mind.
He has also been meeting with the prospective new owners of the team, and entertaining offers for Sixers guard/forward Andre Iguodala.
Through it all, Thorn and the Sixers' brass are trying to figure out which players to take with their first-round pick (16th overall) and their second-round pick (50th overall), or whether to trade up or down in the draft Thursday.
Despite the impending sale, Thorn said he is conducting "business as usual." Comcast-Spectacor is reportedly negotiating the sale of the team to a group led by New York billionaire Joshua Harris. ESPN.com reported two weeks ago that the sale was "imminent," but nothing has been finalized.
The sale could end up affecting Thorn's status with the team, along with that of the other members of the Sixers' management.
"Every owner is different with how they deal with their "basketball people'," Thorn said. "We'll have to see how that goes. Right now, we're operating the way we normally do."
And that includes a possible trade for Iguodala."
