Shoulder inflammation another setback for Brandon Webb

"Right-hander Brandon Webb's rehab assignment has been stopped because of shoulder inflammation after his first outing in more than two years earlier in the week. Webb allowed eight hits and five runs in 31/3 innings for Frisco on Monday while averaging about 84 mph with his fastball. He said after the game he felt good but complained of soreness during a between-starts bullpen session.

He was given an anti-inflammatory injection and will need to be down for a week before the Rangers can begin another rehab assignment. In either case, it doesn't appear that Webb will be an option for the Rangers before the All-Star break — at the earliest."
