"No one would confuse Shaun Hill for Michael Vick, but with defenses focused on stopping Calvin Johnson first and Jahvid Best second, the Lions quarterback has scrambled for big plays each of the past two games.
Hill, expected to make his fifth straight start Sunday in place of the injured Matthew Stafford, was the team's leading rusher two weeks ago against the Packers with 53 yards on four carries. He converted two third-and-6s in the game, rumbling 40 yards for a first down in the third quarter and 7 yards for another in the fourth.
Last Sunday against the Rams, Hill slipped out of the pocket for an 8-yard gain on the first offensive play of the third quarter.
All three runs have come against four-man rushes when the rest of the defense is in man coverage down the field.
"We're getting more (Cover 2 man coverage) from teams than we're seeing from them in our film breakdowns, so that's one guy they don't really have accounted for is the quarterback," Hill said. "And I doubt very many teams go in thinking this guy's going to run the ball on us.""
