San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled Defenseman Joakim Ryan (@JoakimRyan) from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Ryan, 24, recorded three points (all assists) and a plus-two rating in 24 games played. His first stint in the NHL was highlighted by his performance on November 1 against the Nashville Predators in which he set a franchise record and NHL rookie record for most blocked shots in a single game with nine.

In his two games with the Barracuda this season, Ryan tallied one goal and one assist with a plus-two rating and ten shots on goal.

The five-foot-eleven, 185-pound native of Rumson, New Jersey, was originally selected by San Jose in the seventh round (198th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
