"As the lone new face in the Miami Heat's primary rotation, Shane Battier is finding himself at ease with both the transition and the opens shots available when playing alongside LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

"There's only so many ways you can slice up the NBA," the 11th-year veteran said of the Heat's offense. "You just call it different things. I feel pretty comfortable. This is a very disciplined offensive team and the principles are fairly basic, it's simple. So for an old head like me, it comes pretty natural."

To a degree, Battier feels like he's back with the Houston Rockets, during his days alongside Yao Ming, before the towering center was sidelined by a series of injuries.

"When I played with the Big Fella, Yao, there were plenty of open looks," he said of the type of open shots he anticipates with the Heat. "When he had his injury problems, those are much fewer. So if I could get a few open looks, that'd be a nice change.""
