Michael Lombardi of the Ringer is hearing that “several” teams are trying to get RB Dion Lewis from the Patriots, but a trade is considered unlikely.

There has been talk that the Patriots could make one of their running back available for trade, but Lombardy makes it clear the Patriots will not be trading Lewis.

This isn’t the first we’ve heard about teams showing interest in Lewis, as Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald previously reported that multiple teams during the offseason and leading up to the start of the season had contacted the Patriots and expressed interest in him.

The Patriots’ backfield also consists of James White, Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead and Brandon Bolden, so it’s possible they could listen to offers for one of these running backs.
