See the light: Josh Hamilton's daytime woes starting to fade

"Outfielder Josh Hamilton had the biggest hit in the Rangers' seven-run sixth inning, which matched the most runs scored in an inning for the team all year — a bases-loaded triple.

That it came in bright sunshine is becoming less unusual for Hamilton, who had an awful time with sunlight early in the season. After a series of attempts to solve his light sensitivity, he finally found soothing eye drops that have allowed him to adapt to light. Hamilton was only 1-for-5 Sunday but has 11 hits in his last 28 daytime at-bats. He has raised his daytime average to .198 for the season.

"The drops have really helped," he said. "The less squinting you have to do, the easier it is to adapt to the light. You feel like you can play. It's nice to be able to see shadows again. I had a problem. We addressed it. The problem got fixed.""
