It's black magic. Has to be. There is a high (or low) priest (or priestess) out there somewhere, possibly in Queens or Miami or DC or Atlanta, with a Cliff Lee voodoo doll and an unlimited supply of pins. That's the only explanation.

Lee threw a terrific game on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park. He had 12 strikeouts and just one walk over 7 2/3 innings. It marked the 20th time in his career that he's had double-digit strikeouts in a game, and it equaled the second-most he's ever produced. (He struck out 16 Braves last year). At one point, he retired 17 of 18 hitters. And entering the eighth inning he had allowed just two hits.
