The work wasn’t over for Lions general manager Martin Mayhew and his staff when the last name was called in the seventh round of the NFL Draft last Saturday night. Mayhew and Co. quickly hit the phones and tried to sign players who went undrafted.

The Lions have changed the way they approach the “eighth round” of the draft over the last couple years, having more contact earlier in the process with a lot of these players.

Joseph Fauria, LaAdrian Waddle and Cornelius Lucas have been signed by Detroit as undrafted rookie free agents the last couple seasons and each has made an impact in the NFL.

There is talent to be found after the draft, and the Lions are hoping they can find a few diamonds in the rough for 2015.

Here’s a list of players who’ve signed with the Lions following the draft:

Al Bond, G, 6-3, 303, Memphis: Played in 47 games (started 42) including the final 29 games of his collegiate career. Worked 2,912 of the 3,108 plays in the games he played in over his four-year career (93.7 percent).

Anthony Boone, QB, 6-0, 231, Duke: Played in 46 career games with 25 starts. Completed 540-of-923 (59 percent) passes for 5,789 yards with 38 touchdowns and 24 interceptions over his four-year career.
