Burnley are fighting off interest from Aston Villa Newcastle and Sunderland as they look to hang on to hitman Danny Ings.

The Premier League vultures are circling Turf Moor preparing to swoop for the striker in the January transfer window.

Crystal Palace are also monitoring the 21-year-old striker and will join the battle for his signature in the New Year.

But the ambitious Clarets are determined to keep Ings who they see as a key performer in their bid to win promotion from the Championship.

The Lancashire club have cashed in on marksmen Jay Rodriguez and Charlie Austin in the last 15 months and will do their best to hold on to Ings.

Burnley picked up £7m from the sale of Rodriguez to Southampton while Austin went to QPR for £4m after a failed medical saw a proposed summer switch to Hull fall through.

The Clarets will attempt to scare off the top-flight predators by asking for at least £7m for the player who cost just £1m from Bournemouth in 2011 and has two years remaining on his Turf Moor deal.
