Though he took part in light shooting practice and non-contact drills Thursday, San Diego State's Winston Shepard III was to have "precautionary" x-rays and an MRI on his left wrist later in the day. The Aztecs did not expect to get results until Friday.

Shepard came out of Wednesday's game at Boise State in the first half with a wrist injury. Soon returning to the lineup, Shepard played a total of 25 minutes, but only eight in the second half. He finished with six points, hitting just two of nine shots from the field.

Shepard is second to team leader Xavier Thames in scoring average (12.8), assists, steals, free throws attempted and made
