"Brian Schottenheimer said he believes he would have departed the Jets even if the team did not go down in flames at the end of the season.

The former Jets offensive coordinator spoke to St. Louis reporters on a conference call Tuesday that officially introduced him as the Rams new offensive coordinator.

Schottenheimer was not asked much about his six years with the Jets. But one question was whether he believes he would still be with the Jets had the team not lost its final three games.

"I don't think so," Schottenheimer said."
