Saturday, Clark may play against Jacksonville

"The Indianapolis Colts might get two significant players back from injury for this Sunday's showdown with AFC South rival Jacksonville, but they'll be missing another, and likely two.

Safety Bob Sanders could miss up to six weeks with a high sprain to his right ankle and offensive tackle Tony Ugoh likely will also miss the Jaguars game with a groin injury. Each player was injured in last Sunday's win at Minnesota.

Countering the losses of Sanders and Ugoh is the possibility of center Jeff Saturday and tight end Dallas Clark returning the lineup. Saturday has missed the first two games with an injury to his right knee while Clark was held out of the Vikings game with an injury to his right knee.

"If I were guessing I would say they're going to play,'' coach Tony Dungy said this afternoon. "Jeff is ready to go and kind of felt like he was ready to go last week.

"Dallas is going to practice (this afternoon) and if everything goes well, I think he'll play as well.''

The outlook isn't nearly as optimistic for Sanders. Team president Bill Polian said the NFL's reigning defensive player of the year could miss between four and six weeks after he sprained his ankle at Minnesota. If Sanders' recovery is closer to six weeks, he might opt to have "clean-up'' arthroscopic surgery on one of his knees. The team doesn't believe Sanders' recovery from the scope would extend his absence.

With Sanders out, Melvin Bullitt will make his first NFL start."
