"Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss tweeted that he is having surgery on his broken left hand this afternoon, a day after he injured it in the first half of Washington's 33-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
It's expected that Moss will miss at least a month of playing time. Coach Mike Shanahan may make a formal announcement about Moss at his 3 p.m. news conference Monday.
Moss, who entered Sunday's game leading all Redskins wide receivers with 22 catches for 284 yards and two touchdowns, suffered the injury while trying to break his fall on a play. He recorded two catches for 17 yards before he was injured."
